Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer Ultraviolette Automotive has launched its all-new electric motorcycle, the Ultraviolette X47 Crossover, in India. Priced at ₹2.74 lakh (ex-showroom), the company has also announced a special introductory price of ₹2.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for its first 1,000 customers. This launch marks a strategic shift for Ultraviolette, which has so far been known primarily for its premium F77 electric sports bike. The X47 Crossover has been designed as an “all-in-one” electric motorcycle, equally capable of handling city traffic as well as off-road terrain.
Design and Ergonomics
While the X47 borrows some styling cues from the F77, it carries its own identity with several key updates. Being a crossover model, it blends the elements of both adventure motorcycles (ADV) and street bikes.
Key highlights include:
- A tall windscreen, wide handlebars, and a comfortable single-piece seat.
- A brand-new chassis paired with a cast-aluminum subframe, making it stronger than the F77.
- An impressive 208 mm ground clearance, well-suited for Indian roads.
- Sharp, angular body panels and a distinctive beak-style front fender.
The bike is available in three standard colors – Laser Red, Airstrike White, and Shadow Black – along with a special Desert Wing edition.
Performance and Battery Options
The X47 Crossover comes with two battery pack options, offering flexibility in performance and range:
- 7.1 kWh Battery Pack – delivers an IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range of 211 km.
- 10.3 kWh Battery Pack – offers an extended IDC range of 323 km, making it one of the longest-range electric motorcycles in India.
Performance highlights:
- Electric motor output: 30 kW (approx. 40.2 hp).
- Peak torque: 100 Nm, with rear wheel torque up to 610 Nm.
- Acceleration: 0–60 km/h in just 2.7 seconds.
- Top speed: 145 km/h.
The X47 also features multiple riding modes – Glide, Combat, and Ballistic – allowing riders to adapt performance as per conditions.
