A horrific incident has rocked Jhunjhunu district, where a police constable attacked his wife and young son with a sword and then committed suicide. The tragedy, which is now being investigated by the authorities, has plunged the entire area into shock and grief.
A horrific sequence of events
The attack took place in the early hours of the morning, disrupting the peace of the residential area. Neighbours, disturbed by the noise, witnessed a horrific scene: the constable’s wife and son lay injured, their room soaked in blood. The son had sustained head injuries and severed fingers, but both he and his mother were conscious and bravely fighting for their lives. Following the horrific incident, concerned neighbours immediately called for help and about an hour later the police arrived to take the victims to the hospital.
Husband’s video and imminent divorce
Before the attack, constable Rajkumar Kantiwal had posted a video on social media, in which he expressed suspicion about his wife. The video has become a key part of the police investigation. Friends and family also confirmed that the couple’s relationship was extremely strained. Divorce speculation was rife, and official proceedings were scheduled to take place just days later on the 20th. It is being said that Kantiwal had come home just two days before the attack, and no one had any idea of his move.
A child’s premonition
In a particularly heartbreaking detail, a neighbour recalled a chilling conversation he had with the couple’s young son just a day before the incident. The child was playing with a toy sword and innocently said, “My father will not cut my mother with this sword.” He then said something even more disturbing, “My mother will die today.” At the time, no one took his words seriously and dismissed them as the innocent ramblings of a child.
Tragic aftermath and community in mourning
After the attack, the constable fled the scene and walked onto a nearby railway track, where he tragically took his own life. His wife and son are now in a critical condition at a hospital in Jaipur and are receiving urgent medical attention.
The community is struggling to come to terms with the incident. Neighbours, who described Kantiwal as a “good man”, are grappling with a mix of fear and concern for the victims. The tragedy has also sparked a wider discussion on the need for peace in families and the importance of seeking help for domestic and mental health issues.
This shocking incident serves as a sobering and powerful reminder that in times of crisis, communication and support are essential to prevent violence and save lives.
