CCSU Meerut Warden Removed The brawl took place at Kailash Prakash Hostel on the night of May 29, 2025. According to reports, Dr. D.K. Chauhan lost his temper when he found water spilled in the hostel gallery and four students in a room instead of two. He allegedly beat up 20-25 students with a stick and even slapped some of them.
In the video footage, the warden was seen raising his hand on the students, which caused anger among the students and the incident started getting sharp criticism on social media.
Serious allegations by students
Dr. Chauhan assaulted students without any provocation.
Casteist slurs were used for Dalit students.
Attempts were made to snatch mobile phones of students so that they could not record the incident.
Many students were mentally threatened and intimidated.

University’s Response and Action
Students demonstrated outside the Vice Chancellor’s office, after which the administration took immediate action:
Warden removed – Dr. D.K. Chauhan has been removed from the post and Dr. K.P. Singh has been appointed as the interim warden.
High-Level Inquiry Committee – A high-level inquiry committee has been formed, which will also include a student representative.
Scope of investigation – The incident of assault, viral video, situation before the incident and violence or vandalism after that will be investigated.
Notice to 14 students – The university has issued notices to 14 students and sought their response. The students say that unnecessary pressure is being exerted on them.
Warden Dr. Chauhan’s side (Warden’s Counter-Allegations)
Dr. Chauhan has denied all the allegations. He says:
The students abused and attacked him.
His car was vandalised and the home guards could not save him.
He reacted in self-defense.
He has submitted evidence and documents in his favor to the university.
Earlier too, there was a controversy over him when a student at Maharana Pratap Hostel had alleged that Chauhan had got a delivery boy, who had come to bring food at 9 pm, held hostage by the home guards.
