The Todpura Pashu Mela, held every year in Nawalgarh, Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan), is a grand celebration for animal lovers. This year’s edition, organized from September 8 to 13, 2025, turned into a spectacle thanks to one extraordinary star — Burj Khalifa, India’s tallest Marwari horse.

A Festival Beyond Just Trade

Burj Khalifa horse The Todpura fair is not merely a livestock market; it is a tradition that binds together breeders, farmers, and animal enthusiasts. Every year, the fairgrounds in Todpura village come alive with camels, mares, and horses brought from states like Haryana, Punjab, and Gujarat. Local villagers also throng the event, adding to the colorful Rajasthani spirit of the mela.

  • Dates: September 8–13, 2025
  • Animals on Display: Camels, mares, horses, and more

The event is both an educational and commercial platform—where rare breeds are showcased, and knowledge about animal care is exchanged.

Burj Khalifa: The Center of Attention

The undisputed highlight of 2025’s Todpura Pashu Mela was Burj Khalifa, a magnificent Marwari horse. Standing at a height of more than 70 inches, the stallion left spectators awestruck. His name, inspired by the world’s tallest skyscraper, perfectly symbolizes his towering presence.

The Man Behind the Champion

Burj Khalifa is owned by Arvinder, popularly known as Molad, from Samri village in Haryana’s Dadri district. A passionate breeder, Molad has dedicated his life to horses. Currently, he owns nearly 18 to 20 Marwari horses along with a couple of buffaloes. According to him, while horses were once a common sight in farming households, today they are primarily kept by enthusiasts and collectors.

Record-Breaking Height

Burj Khalifa’s official height is over 70 inches, though many believe it could be around 72 inches. When people stand next to him, his head soars far above theirs, reinforcing his title as India’s tallest horse.

What Makes Marwari Horses Special?

Originating from Rajasthan’s Marwar region, Marwari horses are known for:

  • Distinctive Curved Ears – often meeting at the tips
  • Endurance – able to thrive in desert conditions
  • Loyalty and Bravery – deeply attached to their riders
  • Graceful Gait – a high-stepping, elegant walk

Burj Khalifa embodies all these traits, with unmatched height adding to his charm.

A Horse Worth Crores

Molad values Burj Khalifa in a unique way — ₹1 crore for every inch of height.
This means the horse’s price is at least ₹70 crore, and if his height reaches 72 inches, the value goes up to ₹72 crore.

Interestingly, Molad once owned another famous horse, Sher Khan, which stood at 68 inches tall. Back then, he priced it at ₹1 lakh per inch, showing his long-standing method of valuing rare horses.

Power in Breeding

Burj Khalifa is not just a marvel to look at; he is also a prized sire. His offspring are known for their tall stature, strong bones, and robust build. One example Molad shares is of a 60-inch mare that produced a filly growing to 64 inches, thanks to Burj Khalifa’s strong genetics.

Breeding Fees and Legacy

For breeders wanting to pair their mares with Burj Khalifa, the fee is around ₹98,000 to ₹1,00,000 per session. Considering the market value of his offspring, this investment is highly rewarding.

Molad’s vision is to preserve and pass on Burj Khalifa’s legacy. Through breeding, he hopes to strengthen the Marwari line and ensure its place as one of India’s most prestigious horse breeds.

A True Star of Todpura Fair

While many animals grace the grounds of Todpura fair each year, Burj Khalifa emerged as the undisputed star of 2025. With his extraordinary height, graceful looks, and breeding potential, this Marwari stallion is more than just a horse—he is a living symbol of India’s equestrian heritage.

The Todpura fair not only highlighted the richness of animal husbandry in Rajasthan but also paid tribute to breeders like Molad, who dedicate their lives to preserving India’s historic breeds. Burj Khalifa, towering in stature and legacy, will be remembered long after the fair’s gates closed.
