Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan — A wave of shock swept through the Jhunjhunu Police Line on Wednesday night after the sudden and unexplained death of a 42-year-old constable. The deceased, identified as Constable Ganesh Meena, was serving as a driver and was a resident of Devipura village.
Sequence of Events
Rajasthan Police Line incident According to preliminary reports, Constable Meena had completed his duty for the day and appeared to be in good health. He had even engaged in a normal conversation with his fellow officers shortly before the incident. Moments later, he was found lying unconscious inside his room in the Police Line premises.
He was immediately rushed to BDK Hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. His sudden demise has left his colleagues and senior officers deeply distressed.

Station House Officer (SHO) Harjindra Singh confirmed that a detailed investigation has been initiated. “Constable Meena had no visible injuries or signs of struggle,” he said. “We did not recover any suicide note or suspicious items from his room. The cause of death remains unknown until medical reports are received.”

The police have sealed the room to preserve the scene for forensic examination. A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team was called to collect evidence. Experts examined the room for any potential clues — including chemical traces, physical marks, or any indication of external involvement.

Authorities are currently waiting for two key reports — the post-mortem examination and the FSL analysis — which are expected to reveal whether the constable’s death was due to a natural cause such as a heart attack or stroke, or if other factors may have played a role.
“The investigation is being carried out from every possible angle,” SHO Singh added. “We cannot speculate until both the post-mortem and forensic reports are available.”
The deceased constable’s body has been kept in the hospital morgue, and a medical board will soon conduct the autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
