A horrifying incident has shaken the town of Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, where a family was brutally attacked inside their own home. The disturbing video of the assault, showing a mob beating the family, has gone viral on social media — sparking outrage, fear, and renewed calls for justice.
A Night of Fear: 13–14 Attackers Storm the House
Mother Turns Shield in Jhunjhunu Attack The violent attack took place around 9 PM in the Dundo area of Jhunjhunu. According to reports, about 13–14 people arrived in several vehicles and motorcycles. The assault was not spontaneous — it followed an earlier altercation in the market where the victim’s younger brother had been beaten earlier that day.
Eyewitnesses say “four to five people were sitting in each car,” suggesting that the attackers came fully prepared for a coordinated strike. The family believes this was a deliberate and pre-planned attempt to cause serious harm, not just a neighborhood scuffle.
Brutal Assault Inside the Home
When Rajesh stepped outside after the gate was kicked, he was immediately attacked. “The moment I came out, they started beating me,” he said. He suffered head injuries and had to seek medical treatment. The family believes the attackers’ intent was to kill him.
The mob then broke into the house and continued beating everyone inside. Even young children were caught in the violence — trembling with fear as the chaos unfolded around them.
A Mother’s Heroism: Shielding Her Son
Amid the violence, Rajesh’s mother displayed extraordinary courage. Seeing her son being beaten, she threw herself over him to shield him from the blows. “When they were beating my son, I fell on top of him,” she recounted. Her selfless act likely saved Rajesh from severe injuries.
But she wasn’t spared — “I was also hit with a stick,” she said. A relative later pulled her back into the house for safety. Her brave act stands as a powerful reminder of a mother’s instinct to protect her child, even at great personal risk.
Family Alone and Vulnerable
During the attack, only a few members were home — Rajesh, his mother, his brother’s wife, and their children. Their father had passed away earlier, leaving them without another adult male in the house. The attackers seemed to have chosen the time deliberately, knowing the family was alone and vulnerable.
The family named Sawar Nayak, Dilip Nayak, and Ashok Nayak — all residents of the same neighborhood — as the main accused.
A History of Harassment
This was not the first time the family had faced violence. According to them, such attacks had occurred five or six times before. Around two months ago, Rajesh’s younger brother was assaulted, and though a police complaint was filed, the matter was later settled through a compromise.
Rajesh explained, “We made peace three or four times before. We thought it would stop, but it didn’t.” Their repeated efforts to maintain harmony only emboldened the attackers, who continued to harass and assault them.
Failed Peace Efforts
Community members had previously tried to mediate between both sides, hoping for a peaceful resolution. But despite these efforts, the attacks never stopped. The family says they now live in constant fear.
“I am scared because this has happened five or six times,” Rajesh admitted. “We can’t feel safe even in our own home.” The attackers, he said, seem unafraid of the police or any legal action.
FIR Registered: Police Begin Investigation
Following the latest incident, Parmeshwari Devi lodged a complaint with the police on October 22, 2025. She reported that 8–10 men from the neighborhood attacked her nephew and children.
Police have registered an FIR and detained eight to nine suspects for questioning. They are awaiting the medical reports of the injured family members before proceeding with further action. Authorities have assured strict measures once all evidence is collected.
