GATE 2026 Registration begins: IIT Guwahati launches official website

Eligibility Criteria:

GATE 2026 Registration Candidates should be students in the third year or above of a UG degree or have completed the degree.
Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts or Humanities from recognized institutions are eligible.
Professional Society Certifications will be valid if they are recognized as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch./B.Planning by MoE, AICTE, UGC or UPSC.
There is no age limit.

Application Fee (Per Paper):

Regular Period (25 August – 25 September 2025):

₹1,000 – Female, SC, ST, PwD candidates
₹2,000 – All other candidates (including foreign nationals)

Extended Period (26 September – 6 October 2025):

₹1,500 – Female, SC, ST, PwD candidates
₹2,500 – All other candidates (including foreign nationals)

Total Subjects: 30 subjects
New Subject Added: Energy Science (XE-I) – which is under Engineering Sciences
Candidates can choose one or two papers (as per specific combinations)
